I wanted to leave a post in honor of my Grandmother & Grandfather Peterson today. July 11 was the 1 year anniversary of our Grandpa's death and I know it hit hard for a lot of us. In tribute to him, he was a great man with many talents. To me he exemplified what a man should be by the way he honored his priesthood and his wife. He loved unconditionally and could never tease you enough. He was the candyman and knew how to sweeten us all up. I dearly miss him and so do my kids. They ask me at least once a week when the second coming will come so they can see their great-grandpa again. Grandpa we miss you and no one will ever come close to touching our lives as much as you have. I remember one time, while in colege, I went home to visit but not to my parents home my grandparents home. That is where I considered my true home to be. I remember replaying the week for my grandparents, having some of grandma's delicious brownies, and hearing some of grandpa's latest jokes. That is what I had come home for what they would call "sweet southern comfort". Before leaving my grandpa called me back to his office to get me a treat because you never left grandpa's without an all day sucker. That day grandpa slipped me a little more than just an all day sucker. He slipped me a $20 bill. I tried to give it back and tell him I couldn't take it. He said he had a special feeling I needed it. He was right. My budget was tight and things were rough for me right then. I refused again and then gave in telling him, "Grandpa I am going to pay this back." I will never forget what he said to me because it impacted me so. He said, "Amber, the only type of re-payment I want is for you to someday do for your kids what I have just done for you. Repay it with my posterity." I don't know if I am succeeding at handing down his knowledge and his traditions but I am sure trying and I will always remember Grandpa for his "Pay it Forward" attitude.
Now Grandma, what can I say but that we miss you terribly. You know they often say you don't know how good of a thing you've got until its gone. Grandma moved up to St. George with my Aunt and Uncle and I miss her something aweful. I miss our talks on the telephone and stopping by to visit while we are in Blackfoot. I hate driving through Moreland now because I knw her house is empty and it holds so many fond memories for me. Especially memories with Grandma. If I could drive to St, George throw her over my shoulder and haul her home with me I would. Last fall we had so much fun canning peaches together. It felt like I was 10 back in grandma's kitchen again.
Grandma has taught me how to love music and nature. Of course she was always cooking something delicious. The cooking part I still have not mastered yet. My favorite thing about grandma is that she always tells me how much she loves me and I know she means it. I miss hearing, "I love you Amberoness" She always knows how to brighten my day and it was a treat to see her over the 4th of July weekend. I could've sat there for hours, wait I did! We all reminisced and we got some good huggins' from our grammy. My kids told me we needed to see her because they were forgetting what she loked like. They talked about her all day. So Grammy thank you for your hugs and kisses and please don't stay away for too long before you visit home again. We are glad you are happy in St.George but remember we are all missing and loving you here. You are the best Grandma a girl could have! I love these pictures of my kids with my grandparents. Some our from a couple weeks ago with Grandma and the others are about 3 weeks before Grandpa passed away last year. Thank you bothe for leaving a lasting impression with your posterity!

You truly do have great grandparents. How wonderful it is that we can look to our family for inspiration and examples. I'm glad you got to see your grandma. That must have been a great 4th of July celebration with her there.
